1. Bring height into your space: maximize your space by drawing your eyes up. A few ways to achieve this is:

Budget: Paint a tall piece of furniture to draw attention and change out hardware. Check out my DIY below!

Mid range: add a tall floor lamp or bookcase that goes all the way to the ceiling. Or add a big framed art work on a blank wall.

Splurge: Another way (which is also more commitment but adds a huge impact) is to add a ceiling pendant or tall wall sconce.

2. Add an accent wall. Curate the feeling you want with an accent wall. Neutral tones can bring peace and calm. Prints and graphics are inviting and draws people into a space. Whatever you choose let it say something about you.

Budget: painting one wall a single color. If its a large wall I'd suggest a neutral color (grey or another earth tone), if its a smaller wall then consider venturing into a bolder palette color.

Splurge- mural or wall paper accent wall. There are so many great wall paper designers on Etsy and local Seattle muralists or an opportunity for your own DIY (check out mine below)

3. Bring in plants to give a 'resort' feeling. Who doesn't love being on vacation, plants are an affordable way to bringing in the outdoors to the indoors. There are all kinds of plants in price ranges to fit your budget - I've gotten so many free ones from my local Buy Nothing Facebook group.
