When designing an office space, it’s important to think about setting the right tone. Comfort with tea, relax on simple fabrics and breathe in fresh air brought by live plants. For this therapist’s office, we played off the existing natural coastal theme and ran with it. We added luxurious wood, metal and glass textiles with a tea and coffee bar cart for people to feel right at home. It was also a great opportunity to add in handmade touches like a quirky whiteboard made from an old vintage door with a frosted glass. We also sprinkled in some sentimental keepsakes such as the artwork from the client’s travels and hanging ceramics. And of course an office wouldn’t be complete without some strategic storage solutions with the use of cabinets, custom shelving and thoughtful baskets.
Finding storage in Seattle houses is difficult anywhere in the city but especially in a West Seattle townhouse thats so close to the city centre. Location and small living are great pluses but also make a lot clutter for a family of four. The myth of having small furniture to make the place to look bigger was debunked by designing Ikea pieces strategically to ‘look’ custom’ and adding in plywood shelving and table tops to tie it all together. And then adding in cool accessories!

Small space? No windows? No problem! By using design storage solutions, we were able to focus attention to decor and soft textures. By selecting items that visually brought height into the room, all eyes were on taking in the whole room.
